Isabelle Chaquiriand, General Director of Xcala, has been appointed as Senator at the Grand Assembly of the World Business Angels Investment Forum. Senator Chaquiriand will represent Uruguay in the Global Research & Intelligence Committee of the Grand Assembly.
Isabelle Chaquiriand is General Director of Xcala, a program of InterAmerican Development Banck to improve access to financing for entrepreneurs in Latin America and the Caribbean; she is consultant on Venture Capital and Private Equity; member of the Board of ATMA, a leading manufacturer of industrial packaging and household items leader in Uruguay. She is professor and researcher on entrepreneurship, angel investment and general management of the University of Montevideo. She is Doctor in Business Administration (c) from Grenoble École de Management-France, Master in Business Management and Administration from IEEM, Uruguay. Public Accountant, University of the Republic, Uruguay. And she was part of the Symposium on Entrepreneurship Education of Babson College, USA. Isabelle was named entrepreneur of the year for the manufacturing industry in Uruguay in 2010 and 2011. In 2016 she was named Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year by EY.
